Chelsea ace Lukaku wanted by Barca in shock transfer if they cannot land Haaland

ROMELU LUKAKU is reportedly wanted by Barcelona in a shock transfer should the LaLiga giants fail to land Erling Haaland.

Barca are eyeing a rebuild with club legend Xavi in charge and they have their sights set on signing a marquee forward.

Lukaku has struggled in front of goal since rejoining Chelsea

Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland is Barca’s No1 transfer target but president Joan Laporta has ruled the club out of any deal that would put them ‘at any further risk.’

Laporta’s admission is music to Premier League champions Manchester City’s ears.

Pep Guardiola’s side are said to have a deal in place to sign Haaland, whose father played for the club.

And according to Spanish outlet AS, Chelsea striker Lukaku is the fourth choice option behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

Salah could cost Barca around £58million largely due to his contract at Liverpool expiring the following summer.

The world’s best striker, Lewandowski, is also out of contract next summer and would only be offered a two-year deal.

Lukaku, 28, rejoined Chelsea for a club record fee of £97.5m last summer but has failed to meet expectations.

The Belgian has netted 11 times in 33 appearances this season.
